In close collaboration with two existing customers Easy Cargo Systems has developed easy4WARD "Warehousing". This module enables carriers to offer stock to their customers to meet the requirements for an effective and simple management of customer inventory.

Last year Easy Cargo Systems was contacted by several medium-sized carriers, which all sought IT storage solutions for third-party warehousing. But none of them had the courage to join together to develop a solution, as they had previously had bad experiences with development projects in IT.

"There has been a vacuum in the market for a solution within just this business", says Finn Laursen, managing director of Easy Cargo Systems.

Fortunately, two of Easy Cargo Systems own customers also

use a storage solution, and they were not afraid to jump into the development of a new IT-system for inventory management.

The result of the cooperation was the new module "Warehousing", which is an independent solution, meaning all else you need to run the program is an Internet connection. Easy Cargo Systems uses a hosting center in Aarhus, Denmark, which ensures good protection of the system and information with firewall, backup and it is open 24/7.

Although it is an independent solution it can be fully integrated with other modules in easy4WARD. This has been a very important point for the two carriers as they already use other modules from easy4WARD.

Once the module is fully tested the Easy Cargo Systems stands ready to provide the solution to all other carriers.

"Due to the close collaboration with existing customers, we have a great assurance that our first version of the solution will cover most of the demands placed into a warehouse, from transport companies' customers" says Finn Laursen.

Today there are several providers of warehousing solutions for production companies and some of the major carriers develop their own storage system. Inventory management is a complicated affair for most transportation companies offering stock for their clients, and there is often much to save for the firms who do not have the optimal solution.
